In my series 'A walk in the Forest', I depict moments and feelings of being out in nature, surrounded by trees. For me, trees represent the act of being true to who you are. Trees grow in all sorts of forms, shapes, heights and colors. Why shouldn't we? In that way, this series is about meeting what is alive inside of you, whether we've been told it's good or bad, and welcoming it. Because living your truth is the best feeling there is and what makes us beautiful.

 

To create my work, I often go into the forest and sit with the trees. I study and draw them. I look at light being filtered through the leaves, the rings formed when they grow or the shapes of the branches. An endless study of beauty!
